Bringing mobile vaccine clinics to area organizations!
LITTLETON – Ammonoosuc Community Health Services, Inc. is offering mobile “POP-UP” vaccine clinics to area organizations. The goal of the clinics is to remove barriers that may be in the way of people in hard-to-reach areas from getting vaccinated. By bringing vaccines directly to the public at their work, place of worship, or club or activity center, the clinics aim to eliminate time, travel, and monetary expenses – making it even easier to get vaccinated. ACHS uses funds from a U.S. Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) grant to help offset the cost of the clinics.
Beginning in May, ACHS began visiting area organizations to offer their employees a choice of Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. The shots were administered free of charge by the ACHS vaccination team and volunteers from the Medical Reserve Corp. (MRC). The vaccination teams return to the organizations for second doses or schedule elsewhere if needed.
Nearly a dozen mobile clinics will have been implemented, including ‘Pop-Up” events at: Pete & Gerry’s Organic Eggs, Hatchland Dairy, Burndy LCC. Littleton Coin Company Inc., New England Wire Technologies, local restaurants, and more.
Any local business, organization, or place of worship hosts an ACHS mobile clinic. To inquire about how you can schedule a pop-up clinic at your site contact: Jill Kimball at [email protected] or by calling 603-444-8216.
