Where Food Meets Health, Learning, and Community
This hands-on program is designed to help individuals, children, and families discover how simple, affordable meals can support better health outcomes—especially when navigating conditions like diabetes, obesity, hypertension, or even just the everyday challenges of feeding a family on a budget.
We’re excited to share a fresh new way we’re bringing health, wellness, and community together—one delicious meal at a time.
Meet the ACHS Food As Medicine Portable Teaching Kitchen (FMPTK)!
What Makes Our Teaching Kitchen Unique?
✔️ It’s Portable
Set up indoors or outdoors, anywhere in the community.
✔️ It’s Accessible
We focus on affordable ingredients and local resources like WIC, SNAP, CSFP, food pantries, and community gardens.
✔️ It’s Inclusive
Open to all community members, not just ACHS patients.
✔️ It’s Collaborative
We partner with schools, providers, and agencies to create customized learning experiences (think Baby & Me sessions, diabetes-friendly cooking, and more!).
✔️ It’s Joyful
Our motto is “Sharing Meals You Feel Good About” because we believe food is about connection as much as nutrition.
