Breast & Cervical Screenings can make a difference… Early detection saves lives.
For Elizabeth, cancer runs in her family. She watched her mother struggle with breast cancer and worried constantly about if, when or how it could affect her own health care. It was always on her mind. Fortunately, she had built a strong relationship with her ACHS provider – Jessica Thibodeau. She felt comfortable sharing her concerns and together they worked to develop a proactive plan to face these
challenges head on.
Jessica encouraged Elizabeth to participate in the “Let No Woman Be Overlooked” free breast and cervical cancer screening program offered through the state of New Hampshire. The program is open to women ages 21-64, who may have limited income, no insurance or high-deductibles. Elizabeth was screened at Littleton Regional Hospital.
When the test came back positive, Jessica listened, and took all of Elizabeth’s concerns into consideration and together they worked on a course of action. Elizabeth began treatment and today, years later she is cancer-free, strong and healthy. She continues to ski and garden with her husband and enjoy their home in the north country.
