Exciting News! Thanks to generous support from community members and local businesses, the ACHS Dental and Oral Health Center now has the portable dental chair their traveling team needed!
Last year, ACHS began seeing patients “on the road” for dental care. To make the experience comfortable and more compatible with what patients experience at a fixed dental site, the team requested a portable dental chair.
Support for the equipment came from varied locations. The first to support the effort financially was ACHS Physician’s Assistant, Josh Gleiner who works at the ACHS-Littleton site. He hosted a fundraiser for his birthday at the North Country Climbing Center and on Facebook, with all proceeds going to the dental equipment fund. His party raised over $1,000!
Much thanks to area residents and businesses!
Local resident, Angie Low Ryder followed suit with a social media fundraising campaign of her own and individual donations came in from around the area. New England Wire Technologies and Littleton Diner provided additional support. Finally, Littleton Regional Healthcare came through with a $5,000 contribution providing the full amount needed for the chair and additional portable equipment.
The equipment is already in use at the Grafton County Nursing Home where the dental team sees patients monthly. “What a difference the chair makes.” Said Hygienist Katie Latulip. “You can just see how much more comfortable patients are.”
